Course Tracks
There are several main course tracks offered at the Academy. However, these are not the only ones, just the major ones. Other tracks should be outlined in the character biography.
General classes: These classes are normally taken, regardless of track or interest.
Protocol, SGC Procedure, Allies and Enemies, Geography of the Universe, Goa'uld Basics, Restricted Worlds, Alternate Universes, Ethics, Survival Studies, Basic Stargate functions, Basic Technology
Command - usually combined with something else (generally combat or diplomacy), this track is based on leadership, tactics and strategy. Positions for the Command track are limited.
Suggested classes: Military Protocol, Advanced SGC Procedure, Leadership (as well as other specialised classes depending on track and also general classes)
Combat - just what it says. It's focused on the defence and offense and is basically military training with a twist for off-world ventures.
Sub-section:
* Intelligence - Combat students can choose to specialise further in Intelligence, which consists of espionage and classified acts

Suggested classes: Boot camp, Military Protocol, Advanced SGC Procedure, Advanced Allies and Enemies, Goa'uld politics*, Combat Tactics, Goa'uld Weaponry, Strategy and Tactics, Espionage*, Covert Operations, Earth Weaponry, Defence and Offense
Anthropology - focuses on ancient cultures, communicating and understanding the cultures based on old Earth cultures that are found around the galaxy.
Sub-sections:
* Archaeology - focused more on the physical aspects of cultures than the social.
* Linguistics - focused more on different languages.
Suggested classes: Galactic History, Diplomacy, Languages (specialised classes depending on choice), Advanced Alien Cultures, Goa'uld Caste System, Advanced Ethics, Alien Judicial Systems
Diplomacy - focused on first contact with new cultures, negotiations, peacekeeping and mediation
Sub-sections:
* Law - focused on Earth systems (mainly criminal) and intergalactic laws
Suggested classes: Advanced Goa'uld Politics, Diplomacy, Languages, Advanced SGC Procedure, Advanced Allies and Enemies, Alien Judicial Systems, Ambassadorial Duties, Advanced Ethics, Diplomatic Strategies, Psychology
Science - focused on physical sciences with relation to the newly discovered aspects of the universe
Sub-sections:
* Astrophysics - the main track chosen, with a focus on Stargate-related physics and new discoveries
* Biology - focused on alien plant and animal life
* Physicist - focused on the theoretical side, when coming into contact with new twists to the laws of physics (usually combined with Technical aspects)
* Other science - includes Chemistry as well as a few other strands
Suggested classes (depend on strand): Astrophysics, Goa'uld physiology, Alien physiology, Galactic Differences, Species Of The Universe, The Effect Of Naquadah, Stargate Operations, Wormhole Physics, Alternate Realities, Time Travel
Technical - focused on the physical technological aspects
Sub-sections:
* Engineering - Developing new technology from new discoveries
* IT - focused on computers and systems
* Technical - focused on Stargate and alien technologies and how to fix them
Suggested classes: Advanced Goa'uld Technology, Stargate Operations, Stargate Mechanics, Alien Devices, Asgard Technology, Miscellaneous Technology, Time Travel, Reverse Engineering, Basic Principles, Combining Different Technologies
Medical - focused on the health of SGC and off-world personnel (primarily the same as an Earth-based medical school with the addition of Stargate-related health issues)
NOTE: Medical students are required to have 2 years training at a recognised Earth medical school before joining classes at the Academy
Sub-sections:
* General medical officers - usually for Base Staff medical personnel
* Medics - focus on emergency treatment
* Relief Staff - for on Search and Rescue medical staff, as well as off-world relief for communities in trouble
Suggested classes: Advanced Goa'uld physiology, Advanced Alien physiology, Alien Viruses and Pathogens, Medical Ethics, Basic First Aid, Anatomy, Other mainstream medical classes
Psychology - focused on the mental health of SG and off-world personnel, follows the regular psychological courses of Earth institutes with some additions
Suggested classes: Regular psychological courses in addition to the following. The Mental Effects Of Stargate Travel, Goa'uld Caste System, Understanding Alien Cultures, the Goa'uld/Host Relationship, Understanding Team Dynamics
Stargate Academy Flight School - specialising in the flight theory and practice of alien craft. Can be combined with Combat or Physics.
Sub-sections:
Students select a specific species to specialise in and learn the basics and advanced systems of that species' crafts. A general selection or cross-selection is also available. Main selections are:
* Goa'uld - modern
* Goa'uld - ancient
* Earth - original aircraft
* Earth - original spacecraft
* Earth - hybrid technology
* Asgard
* Miscellaneous
Suggested classes: Regular flight classes in addition to classes focusing on the Effects of Zero Gravity, Space Combat, Physics Of Flight, Glider Tactics, Basic Alien Flight Systems, Advanced Alien Flight Systems and Maintenance:
