Background / Personal
Background:

Born in Saint-Emilion, France on May 18, 1978, Chandra Mary-Jane Eris came into the world on a rainy spring day. Her Parents, Arnaud and Arielle Eris, considered her to be their miracle child and the day she was born, healthy and thriving, her father ran out into the rain to thank God for finally answering his prayers. She has one older, adopted brother, Anton, who is 5 years older then her. Up until the day Arielle found out she was pregnant, she had been led to believe that she would never conceive a child. Despite worries that Anton may be jealous of the attention showered upon Chandra, the small boy warmed to the baby instantly and the two became inseparable, with Anton teaching small Chandra the workings of the family’s large vineyard.

Although her childhood was fairly happy, it was often filled with stress when her parents felt the need to pressure her about learning more about the family business. Not wanting to be stuck making wine for the rest of her life, she pushed her parents away as she entered high school and tried to distance herself from that life, often relying on Anton to play mediator during confrontations. It was because of this that her parents cut her out of their wills, they felt that if she didn’t want the life, she didn’t want the money either. In her senior year, she met and fell in love with Pierre Nouveau, a guest of her fathers and 10 years her senior. He easily seduced the young woman and convinced her to marry him. They were joined in a small civil ceremony only days after she graduated and they moved to Lyon so that Chandra could further her education. Five months into the marriage, Mr. Nouveau, problems occurred and, by the time she was 19, they had divorced.

Tragedy struck when her parents were involved in a head on collision and were both killed shortly after the wedding. They had been heading back to the vineyard from their daughter’s new place when another driver lost control of their vehicle and crashed into the Eris car. Her brother, who had stayed back to ready the property for a frost, was devastated by the news and blamed Chandra, insisting that is she hasn’t moved, they would never have died. After a loud and explosive argument at their parent’s memorial service, the siblings refused to speak to one another. They have spoken only once since that day.

She continued on with her studies in Lyon at the L’Université Lumière, quickly earning herself a spot at the head of the class. She was well liked by teachers and students alike. It was her charm that eventually led her to meet a Mr. Pierre Limette. The two married and shared a passionate union. No problems occurred until just after Chandra had completed her Anthropology Ph.D. Feeling his manhood was threatened by a smarter woman, Mr. Limette walked out for a pack of cigarettes one night and never returned.

Shortly before her degree completion, she was drafted by Renseignement Generaux and taught necessary combat skills, all of which she learned quickly and excelled at, often winning against her teachers during practices. She met her third husband just before her 29 th. birthday and again married quickly. The relationship between her and Pierre Citron was a rough one. Shortly after the wedding, he started to obsess about her every move, demanding to know where she was at all time even though he knew some parts of her job were not meant to be shared. Unable to take the tension, she finally left him and filed for divorce shortly after she turned 30. Ignoring their now separated status, Mr. Citron continued to pursue his ex wife, pushing her to obtain a restraining order against him. He ignored the order and continued to call and send gifts. Desperate to escape his attentions, Chandra applied for a teaching position with the Stargate Academy and eagerly accepted when they offered her the job.

Psychological Profile:

Chandra Eris is an outgoing person, the tragedies and subsequent life battles she has faced in the relationship area have not fractured this positive outlook on life. Throughout her life, she has been always quick to love, and even quicker to offer her heart. Her three divorces at the young at of 31, the death of her parents and the division from her only remaining family have led her to the point where she is slowly becoming more wary of who she gives her heart to, but the ever constant drive to love, and be loved too is strong in this individual.

Chandra enjoys human interaction, but at rare times when she withdraws from the world, she is at her most vulnerable. The rarity of this action leads to the assumption that in her effort to portray a happy individual, her inner demons and concerns are often suppressed.  She had no temper what so ever, almost to the point where her passive aggressive nature causes great rage in her ‘opponent’. This particular attribute makes her combat skills impressive, ever cool, ever vigilant, she will make an excellent instructor for the student body as her temper and pride cannot be wounded. As a result she will be an informative and caring member of the faculty.
