Ellie
is the youngest of the five children of Bob and Stephanie
Parker. When Ellie
was only 5 years old her parents discovered that she wasn’t like
the rest of their children.
Within one year's time young Ellie went from kindergarten to
second grade with her brother
Thomas. This caused many problems for her brother
Thomas, he was made fun of due to the fact his baby sister was
smart and in the same class as he
was. The Parkers tried to defuse the situation
by explaining to Thomas how special Ellie was, but that didn’t
stop his ill feelings and
treatment of Ellie at home and in school.
In the next school year Ellie continued to do
well in her academics. By the
time summer had arrived she had surpassed her brother Richard, who was
in 6th grade, and had moved on to
junior high school. This caused a deeper at
home. Bob had bragged about his youngest daughter to all their other
family and friends. Ellie was even
accepted into a program for gifted children
in Chicago.
Over the next few years Stephanie Parker would
shuttle from Jersey City, New
Jersey to Chicago, Illinois every few weeks so she could see her
youngest child. This caused an
even bigger rip in the family because she missed
many of the other children’s programs to spend time with Ellie.
Annie, the eldest child, had had enough when
her parents missed her high school
graduation to attend a banquet with Ellie. She left her parents a
note telling them that if they
didn’t start paying attention to the other children
they had they would lose them just like they had lost her. This
had sent the Parkers a wake up
call. They didn’t want to hurt Ellie’s future
but they didn’t want to lose their other kids.
They brought Ellie back home the summer of
2003. She had already finished school
and her parents wanted her to go to a college close to home since
she was only 12. Ellie had
different ideas of what to do with her return home.
By November, Ellie had become a regular at the
local mall with other girls her
age. For the first time in her she was being *normal*. Some of her
friends knew that she was
different, but they just knew her as the bouncy happy
girl down the street. She even started going to Karate classes one a
week. When the Stargate program
was revealed to the public Ellie was at home
with her family. She turned to them and said, “I am going to be
apart of that!”
After the announcement of the Stargate
Academy, Ellie started spending time in
the local library. Allan, Richard and Thomas started hating the fact
their baby sister was so positive
that she would get in to the Academy while
her parents thought it was too dangerous for her.
Stephanie tried to keep her family from
fighting but lost when her sons let
their feelings over their young sister’s success’ and attitude be
known to their
parents and little Ellie.
Ellie never let her pain of their hatred show,
earning her the nick name ‘Little
Mary Sunshine’ from her siblings. She still remained her normal,
bouncy, happy self.
By January of 2009 Ellie had taken a few
computer classes at the local community
college and had applied to the academy. Her brother Richard had
also applied.
They both received letters from the academy
board on the same day. Richard’s
a decline letter; Ellie’s an acceptance letter. This caused a
problem with the whole family. Her
parents didn’t want her to go since her brother
had not gotten accepted. After the Parkers’ demanded Ellie decline
the Academy she ran away from
home.

Psychological
Profile: |
At
first glance Ms. Parker gives the appearance of a constant
happy-go-lucky young woman. She always had a smile on her face during
the interview until when questioned about her families reactions to
her joining the academy at her age, she became quiet and withdrawn.
She has some insecurities about how her intelligence affects others
attitude with her. She is very dedicated to what she puts her heart
into. She is a very loving, and outgoing person that is willing to
help anyone at the drop of a hat.
